We believe that international exchange and fact-based dialogue are essential to fostering the next generation of audiences and artists at the Bayreuth Festival.

The Essentials:
In accordance with its statutes, the Association’s primary purpose is:
- to foster and deepen the understanding of Richard Wagner’s works;
- to actively support the continued existence of the Bayreuth Festival in accordance with Richard Wagner’s vision and the statutes of the Richard Wagner Foundation Bayreuth.
The Association’s further purposes are:
- to promote and support performances of Richard Wagner’s works in Salzburg, particularly within the framework of the Easter and Summer Festival in Salzburg;
- to promote contemporary music as well as contemporary literary and performing arts, in the spirit of Richard Wagner’s exhortation: “Children! Create something new!” (Richard Wagner to Franz Liszt, 8 September 1852);
- to research the history of the Wagner family, with a particular focus on the history from 1930 to the present day;
- to promote the international dissemination of European musical culture, drawing on the cultural heritage and significance of Salzburg and Bayreuth.

With an annual membership fee of € 25, you support our projects and gain access to our members’ events as well as our member database.
Ordinary Member
With an annual membership fee of € 25 and active participation in our projects, you gain access to our members’ events and member database, and are entitled to vote at our Annual General Meeting.

Despite his extraordinary creative output and remarkable capacity for work, Richard Wagner was unable to realize all of his artistic visions. Through a substantial annual contribution and their dedicated commitment, WAGNER Patrons help bring these unfulfilled projects to life.
We would be pleased to provide you with further information about our projects if you are interested in becoming a WAGNER Patron.
As a WAGNER Patron, you automatically become an Ordinary Member of the Association, including full voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.

Do I have to live in Salzburg to become a member?
Not at all. We are an international society based in Salzburg, and our activities take place both online and in person. We regularly meet in Bayreuth during the summer, Salzburg at Easter, and Venice in late autumn.
What are the benefits of membership?
The greatest benefit is ours: your membership and active involvement help us achieve the objectives set out in our statutes.
As our membership continues to grow, we look forward to offering an expanding programme of events, as well as exclusive information and opportunities available only to members.
You also enjoy access to our extensive lending library (a catalogue is currently being prepared).
Are partner or family memberships available?
Unfortunately, no. To keep our administrative costs as low as possible and devote our resources to our projects, membership is offered on an individual basis only. Each membership is valid for one calendar year and applies to one person.
